Boldly Go! The Best Star Trek Gifts to Give a Trekkie

It’s that time of year again, the holidays. That means you need to find the perfect gifts for the people in your lives. And let’s be honest, there are Trekkies out there and they want cool Star Trek themed gifts. But where do you start? That’s where I come in. I present to you a hand-selected Star Trek Gift Guide.

Who am I? Well, I’m The Star Trek Dude. Seriously, you can @ me. I also host the Redshirts & Runabouts podcast, a Star Trek podcast on the Heroes Podcast Network.

Consider me your guide to the best gifts for Trekkies this year. To help out, I’ve broken these items into five sections: Film & TV, Books, Games (Tabletop & Video), Toys & Collectibles, and Miscellaneous. I’ve also organized them by price point, starting with the cheapest in each category. Items range from as low as $10 to as high as $180 USD.

Star Trek Films and Series

$35 Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 Blu-Ray

Star Trek: Discovery is the flagship series of the CBS All Access streaming service. Season 2 of the show landed on Blu-Ray November 12th, 2019, making it an ideal gift for Trekkies, mostly because it’s unlikely they have it yet. Best Buy has an exclusive Steelbook, if you’d like to pay a little extra.

$40 Star Trek: Stardate Collection – remastered editions of all 10 Prime timeline films on blu-ray

If your Trekkie is like me, they have purchased the Star Trek films in many formats over the years, VHS, DVD, DVD again, Blu-Ray, you get it. Well, now, you can get all 10 Star Trek Prime Timeline films (Shatner’s Kirk through Picard) in one convenient remastered Blu-Ray set for $50. It’s a great deal, the best I’ve seen, and it’ll save on shelf space too… assuming they ditch the older copies. No promises.

$60 Star Trek Trilogy: The Kelvin Timeline 4k UHD

Let’s not forget our Kelvin Timeline trilogy (Chris Pine’s Kirk) of films! Those have just been re-released in a beautiful 4K UHD box set that includes Star Trek (2009), Star Trek Into Darkness, and Star Trek Beyond.

$90 Star Trek: The Next Generation – The Complete Series

Remastering doesn’t always mean the same thing. In the case of Star Trek: The Next Generation, they went back to the original 35mm film negatives to complete revamp and restore the series in gorgeous HD quality. I know because I bought the seasons as they released. It’s incredible and was worth it at $60 per season. Now you can get all 7 seasons for just $90 in a convenient box set. And yes, this will also save shelf space.
